The vault at Birch Cliff Public School holds many treasures of the past that reveal our community’s rich history over the last 100 years.

As the school approaches its centennial, archivist Tamara Hermann has unearthed a fascinating portfolio of student work from 1922.

This story will take you back to a time when maps were drawn by hand and when studying Canadian history meant learning about the British Empire.

And we owe it all to a brilliant student named Leslie Whitford.
