Sat. Aug. 26 is Kingston Rd. Day

SalvageShop

The iconic “Birch Cliff Village” sign that graced Kingston Rd. at Birchmount for decades is going on the auction block on Sat. Aug. 26 with proceeds going to the Bluffs Food Bank.

It’s part of a final sidewalk/in-store sale being held at the Salvage Shop tomorrow to help owner Roy Clifford clear out a mountain of merchandise in preparation for his move to a new location.

As many people are aware, the Salvage Shop at 1492 Kingston Rd. is one of seven small businesses that will be torn down to make way for a new 120-unit mid-rise condo building by Core Development Group.

Clifford may not have wanted to leave his current Birch Cliff location but he’s going out in style and there are sure to be bargains for anyone who appreciates antiques, vintage fixtures and memorabilia.

Kingston Road Day

The Salvage Shop sale is one of many events that will be taking place on Kingston Rd. on Saturday as part of the first Kingston Road Day, organized by a collective of businesses, arts groups and other organizations with help from the office of MP Bill Blair.
