The Photo of the Day for September 7, 2012 is actually a sewer video, which can be viewed if you scroll down (not on the right).
I went to the Ward 35 flooding meeting last night hosted by Councillor Michelle Berardinetti and saw that officials from Toronto Water were showing video of a sewer inspection on Crescentwood Road.
I was intrigued because Crescentwood was one of the streets that was hardest hit by basement flooding after the July 15th rain storm.
The video was taken with a sewer scope on August 8, 2012 when everything was flowing normally again. It is a combined sewer that deals with sewage and stormwater and I was surprised to learn that it is only 825 mm (32 inches) in diameter.
The video’s a little shaky because I used my iPhone to record off of their laptop.
Fyi – when the camera stops it is showing a connection to a home. The first two connections have been capped, which is why you can’t see the pipe.
