Anybody remember this building?
The Photo of the Day for July 23, 2012 is a shot of the old Taylor Memorial Library, before it was torn down in 1984 to make way for the newer building that’s in use today.
Taylor is one of Toronto’s smallest library branches.
In these days of cutbacks, it seems prescient of Fred Taylor to have donated the property to the old municipality of Scarborough “for the purpose of a branch library and no other purpose.”
Yay Fred!
While the “new” library is lovely, I did love the old one in the Taylor homestead… it felt like you were reading in your home…
