Variety Village was a busy place last week!
On Thursday October 18th, Variety Village held a corporate luncheon at Arcadian Court honouring Ontario’s Lieutenant-Governor, David Onley.
Along with Toronto’s corporate community there were many Paralympians in attendance, with some sporting well-earned hardware.
Gold medalists on hand
Tyler Miller and Brandon Wagner are members of Canada’s National Wheelchair Basketball team and here they are showing their gold medals.
It was a real pleasure to meet these men and I know we all proud of their winning performance.
I talked with them and they are ready to defend their top podium finish in four year’s time at the next Paralympic Games in Rio.

A photo-op with Abdi Dini
The games were a great opportunity for many to have their picture taken with Abdi Dini who’s a guard on our Canada’s Wheelchair Basketball team.
Among those in attendance was Scarborough Southwest MP Dan Harris who was able to come down from Ottawa to attend the games.
