Thousands showed despite threatening skies to mingle with Mayor Rob Ford at Thompson Memorial Park Friday night at the first Ford Fest held outside Etobicoke.
Cars were parked on grass right up to Lawrence Ave and Brimley Road and vehicles and crowds were still arriving after 9 p.m. for the party which started at 6 p.m. and was slated to go to 10 p.m.
People lined up an hour, 150 deep, for a picture with Mayor Ford while the big attraction was the free food where up to 700 people were waiting at any given time for two hours for a freebie burger.
