Toronto Water officials will be on hand to answer questions about basement flooding at a meeting tonight hosted by City Councillor Gary Crawford.
The meeting is being held at 7:00pm at the Scarborough Village Recreation Centre at 3600 Kingston Road, at Markham.
They will, no doubt, be getting an earful from Birch Cliff residents and other homeowners in Ward 36 whose basements flooded with stormwater and sewage over the summer.
Councillor Crawford has promised that the results of a 2007 Environmental Assessment that recommended five key improvements to the local water infrastructure will be revealed.
Last week, Crawford used the EA to convince members of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee to place Ward 36 on a priority list for infrastructure repairs.
Tonight, residents will be organizing a petition to send to the full City Council before it votes next month on Ward 36’s inclusion on the list.
