Ward 36 Councillor Gary Crawford is hosting a Birch Cliff community consultation meeting this Thurs. Nov. 26 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm in the cafeteria at Variety Village, 3701 Danforth Ave.
In addition to Councillor Crawford, senior city staff will be on hand from the planning and economic development departments as well as condo developers.
Topics to be discussed include the following:
Development
- update on area residential developments by the Councillor
- Senior planners will do a presentation on zoning along Kingston Rd
- presentations by Kingston & Co. (former Alpine Hotel site), and The Hunt Club Residences (former Eastwood Medical Clinic)
Transportation
- Update on the Comprehensive Birch Cliff Traffic Study,
- speeding,
- infiltration of traffic on side streets during rush hour
Economic Development
- Update from Economic Development Department
- local businesses
- TD bank
Parks
- Playground at the Birchmount Community Centre
- animating local parks i.e., installations such as concrete chess or ping pong tables
- programming for new Birchmount gymnasium
