Birch Cliff News is a community website devoted to covering local news and events that affect the daily lives of the people who live in our corner of southwest Scarborough.

It’s an online resource where we can share reliable information and have a conversation about things that are unique to Birch Cliff and make it such a special place to live. The goal is to help strengthen our community by giving residents an online voice. An informed community is a stronger community.

It’s a website published by the residents of Birch Cliff for the residents of Birch Cliff.

We’ll be talking about lifestyle, community events, local sports, crime, city services and real estate. We’ll keep you up to date on what’s happening at Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre, Taylor Library, Birchmount Collegiate and Birch Cliff Public School. Like you, we’re interested in plans to revitalize Kingston Road as well as the future of The Quarry. We’ll also be doing stories about our rich community history and the important role that Birch Cliff played in the development of Scarborough.

Birch Cliff News covers an area roughly bordered by Lake Ontario to the south, Danforth Road to the north, Victoria Park Avenue to the west and east to Kennedy Road. But we’ll also cover stories further afield because we work, shop and play beyond beyond those boundaries.

Birch Cliff News is a non-profit, independent website. We are volunteers who share a passion for our neighbourhood. We know there are more of you out there, so please consider joining us – there’s room for anyone who wants to participate and we value your help. We’re looking forward to your feedback, story ideas and having that conversation.
